In addition to the stunning downtown of this town, Altamura is famous for his type of delicious bread, named after the city where it’s born: “Pane di Altamura”, a DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) label, an Italian certification of high-quality food. But, watch out, you who are suffering of celiac disease! This bread is very high in gluten.
